A full committee meeting was held in December to give a progress report on the repairs and works within the Pool area and the painting and cleaning of the community areas.   I am pleased to inform all owners that the painting of the Tulipans is now complete and in addition the electric cupboards and water cupboards have been painted.   We have to wait for better weather before we can complete the community walls on the Tulipans directly adjacent to the Lemon Grove.  The urbanization now looks smarter and cleaner as a result of the work carried out.  Thank you to all of those owners who participated in the work.  The community swimming pool is now repaired, re-grouted and will be filled this weekend.  In addition we have built a new patio area close to the children’s pool so parents are able to use the sun beds whilst watching over their young ones.

Since the middle of December we have suffered several break–ins to apartments in both R1 and R2.  Two of the properties suffered severe damage which has cost the owners several thousand Euros.  In addition every water cupboard and electric cupboard has been entered and tampered with.  In one case a water meter has been stolen and in many cases water has been turned off in the middle of the night.  Both the water and electric companies will not help secure, what is in fact their property, so I have decided to secure every cupboard.  However, I have to give both utility companies access to their cupboards, although very painstaking this is, the task is almost complete. Other areas where we can make the urbanization more secure are being looked at.  The urbanization seems to have been victimized by one or two undesirables.  I believe we have dealt with these people as best we can and to this end I have issued four denuncias in the last week.  However, these people who we believe responsible are actually renting from owners within our community.  It is essential that owners scrutinize their agents.  I have been informed, by the Police, that there are many rogue agents who rent out to undesirable tenants and even pass on duplicate keys from owner clients they no longer represent.  This is how we end up with illegal occupants, (squatters).  I would advise you ask your key holders to check your properties more often during these darker nights.  Do not leave garden furniture out when no-one is in attendance overnight.  Mr Riley and I are both patrolling through the night at odd times, when we can.  Any volunteers are welcome to help and if there are enough we will co-ordinate timings.
